CASE STUDY - ASIA SOCIETY
New York, NY
Asia Society is the leading global and pan-Asian organization working to strengthen relationships and promote understanding among the people, leaders, and institutions of the United States and Asa.
Its newly renovated and expanded Park Ave. space includes museum galleries, a cultural center, restaurant, gift shop and conference facility.
Security Management Solutions won the contract to implement an integrated solution that would secure the facility while maintaining the inviting feel of a museum.
To support the requirements of these diverse spaces, Security Management Systems designed the infrastructure to include an integration of both card access control and CCTV. The CCTV system includes 48 color cameras in discrete dome housings, offering surveillance of both exterior and interior locations.
The access control system supports 20 proximity card readers to control non-staff access to galleries, administrative areas, and elevators. The system architecture also includes a system server/workstation and one administrative/badging workstation. Just recently, the Asia Society contracted with SMS to upgrade their video storage capabilities and access control security systems with a migration path to digital technologies from the older analog solution.
