Functional Training (FT) is a fitness philosophy that focuses on the improvement of muscle movement patterns, rather than the traditional isolation of individual muscle strength. Practical human movements that mimic sport, activity, or daily living are built into appropriate strength training, rehab and exercise programs. This approach to strengthen specific movement patterns will enhance the participant’s ability to control range of motion, balance, flexibility, and endurance. Integration of the working muscles will give one the ability to move through life and sport with more control, safety, and efficiency.
